Shoofly have produced a number of resources which we have licensed for all Northumberland schools.
There are currently six Connected Learning Resources and three 'I Fly' Books.

Each Connected Learning Resource consists of an animated book, a library of whiteboard activities and a resource bank of photographs and clip art. For each title there is also a teacher's handbook with curriculum links and worksheets and an audio disc containing original story soundtracks and music .

Moonbuddies

An animated upper and lower case alphabet and three action rhymes with narration and supporting resources explore the theme of Space across all six areas of learning at the Foundation Stage.

abc Animal Action Alphabet - An imaginative lower case alphabet. Using sound, action and image to teach initial letter sounds and develop language skills.

ABC Animal Action Alphabet
- An extended version of the Animal Action Alphabet with upper case letters and sentence option as children begin to recognize and construct words.

No-bod-y Knows - This gentle action rhyme is sung as the Moon-bud-ee, No-bod-y travels through Space. Each page explores action words, round, under, onto, and across developing gross motor skills and spatial awareness.

Moon Jump!- Teachers and children take turns to read and join in this counting action rhyme.

My Friend Alien - A moving spy hole introduces children to stripes, spots and a creature with twenty-two eyes! This simple and engaging rhyme encourages children to listen, answer, predict, join in and MOVE!

Animated Book - Jack and the Beans Talk animated book is central to this resource. Written as a narrative poem, alliteration, rhyme and sound effects bring a twist to this traditional tale.

Interactive Library - over 100 supporting activities, linking literacy to Art, Music, Design Technology, Geography and Citizenship.

Resource Bank - clipart, photographs and sound files to create books, puppets, an opera house and a sung performance of Jack.

Audio Disc - Listen to an author's introduction and to the narrated version of Jack and the Beans Talk. Sing and perform to songs and instrumentals from the 'Mini Bean Operetta'.

Develop your creative curriculum using two engaging animated books. Supporting resources explore traditional tales across the curriculum. Make 'Go Granny Go' mathematical game, learn about co-ordinates and map reading. Identify trees and follow the countryside code. Create 3D books, sing the 'Windmill' round and dance the Ji-Jaller Jig (but not all at once!)

Little Red's Hiding Wood - set in a world of paper with an origami wolf and a huntsman with scissors, uses rhyme to add a twist to this well known traditional tale.

Using prose, rhyme and repetition, the story of the Ji-Jaller Bag enables children to predict and join in this regional tradition tale.

The Pirate’s Chest and Other Body Parts Connected Learning Resource embeds Literacy and ICT across the curriculum with creative approaches to learning and teaching. Onscreen and practical activities explore the theme of pirates linking literacy with Mathematics, Design Technology, Science, Music, Art and Design, History, Geography and Citizenship.

Twelve beautifully illustrated and engaging animated poems explore the theme of pirates using a wide range of poetry forms; including tongue twisters, action rhymes and narrative storytelling. The poems support Year 4 and 5 Poetry Units at Key Stage 2.

Jack and the Beans Talk

Ideal for boys and reluctant learners, Angel Boy comprises four supernatural, gothic tales which explore themes of bullying, isolation and mythology.

Angel Boy - Told through the eyes of a boy experiencing bullying, this story is represented as a page from a graphic novel.

Seal Skull - Inspired by the Scottish legend of the Selchie and narrated by a sixteen year old boy.

Wade - Told using contemporary music and sound effects to represent the legend of the Norse giant.

Gothic Tale - A narrative poem using animated text to explore the ancient legend of the vampire.



Skin Deep

Skin Deep

Skin Deep is an innovative resource for KS3 that explores the theme of identity whilst offering opportunities for inter departmental collaboration. Skin Deep addresses the Cultural Cohesion and SEAL agendas with beautifully designed materials that will engage and motivate young people.

Identity is a poem supported by an atmospheric soundscape and stunning photographs. The text and photographic illustrations for the poem were generated by students working with a writer and performance artist in residence.

Seed is a fable-like story that explores the concept of creation.

Activity Bank - Print out pages from the POP-UP Book and build a real book with moving mechanisms.

Resource Bank - Characters, objects and backgrounds from the POP-UP book can be used to create new stories and onscreen activities. Use individual characters as puppets to support creative development.
