Converting Percentages to Fractions - Tutorial 1

The word percentage means 'out of one hundred.'

If you had a score of 80%, this means that you would have scored 80 'out of one hundred' - 80/100.

If you had 50%, this means that you have 50 'out of one hundred' - 50/100.

So to convert any percentage into a fraction, simply put the percentage over 100.

E.g.

Percentage Fraction
25% 25-100.gif (1053 bytes)
63% 63-100.gif (1058 bytes)
75% 75-100.gif (1044 bytes)

Now test yourself by doing the following assessment. Try to get at least 80% correct. Try this test again in a few days time to make sure that you have remembered how to do it.
