The sessions on offer in
this activity are much more than a training course.
Interested colleagues are invited to attend three
sessions, each with an interesting focus revolving
around e-learning, ICT and games. It is intended that
the group will be able to work to produce some resources
for use in Northumberland schools by the end of the
year.
Session 1
This session will look at
the whole question of using games technology as an
engagement, stimulus and presentation tool within
teaching and learning. Different strategies for use will
be discussed and the business of games creation and
editing will be examined in some detail. It is hoped to
provide attendees with the tools necessary for them to
take away and develop ideas in their own schools, either
with pupils or colleagues.
Session 2
This session, later in the
academic year will be a chance to review what people
have managed to achieve since session 1. This may be
materials that have been produced or approaches that
have been tried in the classroom. The session will look
at more production ideas, if time is available.
Session 3
The final session is the 'so
what' and 'what's next' debate, and will analyse what we
have learned and produced and decide if, and how the
process should be taken further.
