Course Title: Using ICT to support Mathematics for NQT's

Curriculum / Subject Area: ICT /Mathematics
School Phase: First, Middle and Special

The aim of this course is to provide teachers new to Northumberland with knowledge of the range of resources that are available in our schools. These include resources that we have purchased on behalf of schools and materials that have been created both by the L.A. consultants and by teachers within the authority.

The day will commence with the use of the interactive whiteboard (note we use Smartboards at the centre) and a selection of  the
Interactive Teaching Programmes from the Numeracy Strategy will be modelled.

Participants will become familiar with the exciting, extensive and interactive Maths resources that are on Knowledge Box and also on the Northumberland Teaching and Learning Website.

Later in the day there will be time to experiment making interactive maths games with Black Cat Numeracy Activity Builder.

By the end of the day the teachers attending will leave with a bank of information and skills to support them in their teaching of the Maths curriculum.
