School Phase:
All
Northumberland’s teaching and Learning
Environment, NorTLE, has undergone significant changes over the summer
and to promote this we are running a number of training sessions around
the County for staff to drop in and find out how they can access this
fantastic resource.

These sessions are
for any member of staff who wants to become familiar with NorTLE’s new
teaching and learning resources. Schools that already have the NorTLE
platform will also find it useful to hear about the great new tools and
applications available
We live in
turbulent times educationally and many of the changes to the platform,
as well as improving how it works, will also help us to ensure that
schools continue to have access to the wide range of Northumberland
online digital learning resources in the future
Some of the key
features on NEW NorTLE include:
·
A new
desktop publishing programme accessible from school and home.

·
An infant
toolkit including writing, drawing, graphing, charts, simple control
and publishing tools.

·
The ability for pupils to make, share
and collaborate together on simple web pages within NorTLE
·
An online filestore for use
between home and school
·
The
Numeracy Interactive Resources Online will be
accessed through NorTLE, so teachers will not require a separate logon
·
Linking NorTLE to Sims for easy
set up of staff and pupil accounts and transfer of data
·
Online training materials for
e-safety and PSHE
·
Over 500 of
Northumberland’s own resources are being moved to the platform from
the NGfL website including favourites such as Little Red Ship, the MFL
materials and maths resources.
·
All the shoofly
materials – Twisted Tales, Moonbuddies, Angel Boy etc.
·
A personal and school
based calendar.
·
New tools to track
pupil progress against APP, provide reports to parents and monitor
progress.
·
Secure email tool
All of these
resources are available online, accessible from home and school, and
great for using with any computer be it desktop or netbook PC.
Feedback from
schools who have trialled the new learning platform and its tools has
been fantastic and we are busy building platforms for all schools in the
County to ensure everyone has access.
We would love to
see someone along from your school to find out more about how you and
your pupils can get the most from the new Teaching and Learning
Environment.
All sessions are
free and will run from 4.00pm – 5.00pm. The dates and venues are:
