Following the
successful launches of our Integrated Approach to e-safety,
schools have been busy installing Policy Central Enterprise
on their computers.
We are now ready to complete the final phase of our
strategy, which is to train the remaining designated staff
from each school in how to access the PCE console.
To do this we plan to run sessions around the County lasting
from 4.00 to 5.00 pm where we will:
- Discuss issues
general issues related to implementation.
- Provide ‘hands on’ PCE console training
- Consider with schools the next steps
Staff need only attend one session, at whichever venue suits
them best. Detailed information on specific venues will be
provided after you have enrolled and we have a better idea
of numbers in each area.
Staff attending will need to bring a laptop from their
school which is capable of wirelessly accessing the
internet. Usernames and passwords for accessing the PCE
console will be distributed to each school at the training
session.
N.B. We do not plan to provide passwords to schools other
than at a supported training session.
This is partly because we want to take people through the
PCE interface, but mainly because we want to deal with the
issues of confidentiality and also be available to discuss
any specific issues with colleagues there and then.
We are aware that from the pilot, the first time schools
look through the logs can be a little overwhelming and we
want to provide as much support as possible.
