Background Images

To collect images for use as background images we sent groups of pupils out of school to to photographs at specific locations in nearby streets.

We also specified that we wanted images to fit the categories
COLOUR
TEXTURE
FORM
SILHOUETTE

We also insisted that the photographs should, as far as possible, be close up images.

The cameras were set to the minimum picture size of 640 x 480 pixels. Keeping the size to a minimum avoids the problem of creating large files and filing up the hard disk of the school computer. It is important to keep to a consistent picture size. It makes it a lot easier to cut and paste between images if the source images are all the same size.
