Background
Information
Northumberland
LEA has supported innovative work in Photography in Education since 1992 and
Northumberland schools have pioneered creative work in the use of digital media.
The project has expanded since its inception and with support from The Arts
Council, Isis Arts and other funding bodies it has undertaken numerous projects
across the northern region.
The
imagePIE site has been set up to promote the work of photography in education.
It provides an opportunity to display photographic work which has been produced
in schools, community groups and outreach projects in galleries and museums.
The Gallery section is a selection of images from a range of projects and there
is also a section which features one particular project in more detail.
We would also like to encourage contact between people working with photography
in education and provide information for groups about publications, new projects
and funding opportunities
If
you are working on a project or have work which you wish to publicise why not
contact us? We can feature your work on the site or make links to your own web
site.
We
are also keen to encourage links between schools and work on international projects
to encourage schools to exchange their images or work together on a collaborative
project. We have already worked on a number of photography and writing projects
and would like to hear from schools and groups doing similar work.
