Libraries
Week 1997.
Cramlington High School pupils working at the Cramlington Library.
Funded by MidNag.
A
group of students from the school were asked to produce an exhibition of photographs
exploring ways in which people use their library. Instead of trying to work
in a documentary style they thought about how they related to the library and
created large scale composite images of themselves using a video camera and
digitising board fitted to a computer. They printed their pictures on a series
of A4 sheets of paper and asssembled the images to make A1 sized panels for
display in the library. Two Saturday morning workshops were held so that other
local children could come and make their own composite images.
