Copying an image
Copying an image allows you to make a
temporary copy of an image from a web page which you can then paste into
a program such as Pages, Word or Publisher.
If you are doing this for the first time
it helps to start up Pages, or whatever package you will want to paste
into, before you begin the copying process. |
 |
1
Select the clipart category you would like to use. |
|

|
2
In this example we are going to use the Nursery Rhymes clipart so LEFT
CLICK the mouse over the 'Jack be quick' image. |
 |
3
The Nursery Rhymes clipart menu should load into your Internet browser. |
 |
4
RIGHT CLICK the mouse over the
'2 little birdiescol.jpg' image.A menu
window will appear.
Move the mouse pointer over COPY and LEFT CLICK
the mouse.
This will copy the small 2 little birdiescol.jpg
image onto the computer's clipboard. |
 |
5
The image you have copied can now be pasted into another program.
If you have a program such as Pages already running,
click on the Pages Icon at the bottom of the screen.
If you do not have a suitable program running then
go to START and run a program such as Pages, Word or Publisher which
will allow you to paste things into it. |

image. |
 |

Now LEFT CLICK the mouse over the paste brush icon at the upper right of
the screen.You should have
successfully pasted the image into Pages.
(If your paste brush is 'greyed out' it means you
have either not clicked on the page or properly copied the 2 little
birdies image - if so go back to stage 4). |
 |
8
To copy a larger image.Go back to the
Clipart menu and LEFT CLICK on the thumbnail of the image you would
like a large copy of.

Saving an image
Saving an image is really a very similar
process. The only difference is that with Copy you have a temporary
image on the computer's clipboard.
With save you can keep a copy on the
computer's hard disc or a floppy disc.
|
 |
12
RIGHT CLICK over the image you want to save and the LEFT CLICK on 'Save
picture as'. |
 |
13
A menu will appear which allows you to select where the image will be
saved and also what format it will be saved in.
Make sure you know where you are saving your image -
look in the save in box towards the top of the menu window.
We are saving our image in the 'My Documents'
folder. |
 |
14
Change the the file name to bopeep.Lastly,
the save as type has been changed to Bitmap.
This is only necessary if you want to use the image in Dazzle. Normally
you should leave the Save as type as JPEG.
JPEG use less memory when saved and so will take less space up on your
computer.
LEFT CLICK on the Save button. |
 |
15
Once the image is saved you can use it in other programs.
In the example on the left we will load the image
into Dazzle.
Run the Dazzle program.
LEFT CLICK on File and the LEFT Click on Open. |
 |
16
In the open menu window find the file you have saved.
First make sure 'Look in' at the top is going to the My
Documents folder.
LEFT CLICK on the bopeep file.
The LEFT CLICK on Open. |
 |
17
The bopeep file you saved from the Internet should now be loaded into
Dazzle. |
 |
18
Once in you can colour the image and use all the other Dazzle tools on
it. |
