Keynote Speaker: Time to Try Something New

Russell has spent the last 20 years working in the education sector evangelising, and promoting the use of technology in Education as well as working in a business environment.  He has a thorough working knowledge of computing, and regularly predicts future developments in technology. 

As an ICT Evangelist, Russell presents a strategic vision to a wide range of audiences both in the UK and abroad. Russell presents to educationalists and key advisers to UK education on a regular basis.  His most notable presentations include to a specially invited audience at The University of Cambridge, where he delivered a special two hour lecture.  Russell has also presented to HM The Queen, Cabinet Ministers, and has made programmes for The BBC, and Sky Television. 

Russell’s presentations address the issues and explore new technologies in education and business in a lively, unique and highly entertaining fashion.  He regularly presents to large high profile audiences here in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Through live and interactive demonstrations he will show how putting the learning at the centre of our ICT provision can engage and motivate learners that we are currently finding it hard to engage with.  He will look at musical instrument learning - focus on guitar for young learners. He will also look at the many handheld devices being brought into our schools and how we can use these and mobile phones to offer a new direction in learning.  He will also look at portable games consoles and how these could offer greater engagement.  Some focus on creativity, He will produce an animated video and show stop animation techniques.  Audience members should bring their mobile phone along to this session if they would like to participate fully.
