Week 1
Group 1: Introduction to use of digital camera

• Differences between digital and ordinary camera – ability to view pictures taken, transfer to computer.

•  How to switch on camera, take picture, view image by setting to play mode, delete image.

• How to set camera to take small images by setting to program mode.

• How to take a macro shot – need LCD on, no closer than 17cm

Pupils work in 2 or 3’s to take photos of items which they have brought in eg. conkers, leaves, berries etc.  Take photos against a white background.

Review pictures taken and delete as necessary.

Pupils shown how to connect digital camera to computer, load GraspIt and download photos.  Save photos within GraspIt program – make and name new folder to store photos.

Photos then need to be converted to Dazzle stamps for next lesson (see separate notes)
