Week 3
Group 1: Introduction to Dazzle Plus

• Opening the program
• Selecting page size (A5 landscape – in order to get 2 designs from one sheet of transfer paper)
• Loading stamps.
• Using the stamps – tiling, flipping, resizing, the brush tool including resizing and adjusting of transparency, the symmetry tool. (see separate notes)
• Saving final design

Show the pupils a range of printed fabrics and discuss features of each e.g. repeated patterns, one off designs, use of colour, scale and proportion of images.
 Pupils work in 2’s or 3’s developing and evaluating their designs.

Group 2 – Use of the Sewing Machine for Straight stitching and seaming.

• Setting up the machine for straight stitch
• Use of reverse stitch
• Turning corners
• Pinning and tacking seam and purpose of seam allowance
• Use of guidelines on machine when seaming.

 Each pupil to produce a sample of straight stitching and a plain seam.
