How we made our tapestry : Forty one children were involved with making the tapestry from Years 2, 3 and 4. They worked in small groups starting with the background and gradually building up the tapestry. A wide range of techniques were used including weaving, sewing, applique, microwave method tie and dye, stump faces, knitting, proggy matting and drawing with fabric crayons. The children of the world in area 2 were made by creating individual stencils from acetates (O.H.Ps) using the children's own drawings. These stencils were then stuck onto the fabric and outlines drawn and later coloured in using fabric pens. The features of the famous buildings and statues in area 3 were created using Plexifoil
