How we made our tapestry :
Every child in our school drew a design for our tapestry. The designs were put together and our favourite ones were selected by various adults involved with the school. Two ideas were put together involving these favourite designs and Year 2 & 3 selected the one they liked the best. The designs were photocopied and patterns and cut out fabric etc were made into kits . These packs were given out to each class and were made up collaboratively by children and adults. They were then collected by Year 2 & 3 and put together on the tapestry square by volunteer children from the two oldest classes. Finishing touches were added. Lots of parents / friends etc. gave threads and fabric and came into school to teach the children knitting and sewing techniques
