Snake knitted in after school knitting club

What our tapestry is about :
Festivals and Pets
Millennium 2000 is the year of the dragon.  The school had decided on this design as a follow up to Chinese New Year (Festivals) work.  Every class in the school was involved and produced one or two of the accompanying 'animal years' ( rat, dog, pig etc.).  Interspersed with 'red envelopes' a symbol used in the new year celebrations.

How we made our tapestry :
Reception to Year 4 were involved.  Year 4 did the large dragon in the centre and the clip rug rat.  C.D.U.  made the small dragon and the cockerel.  Knitting club made the snake Reception made the dog and the horse.  Year 1 made the pig and sheep.  Year 2 made the tiger and rabbit and year 3 made the monkey and the buffalo.  The envelopes which have children's initials on were from a selection throughout the school.  This was an on-going project in the Spring Term
