What our tapestry is about :
Our two themes were 'Journeys' and 'Friends'
We divided the tapestry into 4 sections, each showing a feature of our locality.  They were places children would play with other friends.  We chose the beach, the playground, the sea and Holywell Dene.  Each locality was separated by different kinds of transport and then the tapestry was brought together with a border showing the Metro train and all the children travelling in it.

How we made our tapestry :
Every child in the school was involved in producing work for the tapestry, assembling the tapestry or working on the canvas itself.  A wide variety of techniques and materials were used, including weaving, knitting, sewing, collage and plexifoil.  The work was completed over three weeks with the help of teachers, auxiliary staff and parents.
