What our tapestry is about :
Our tapestry is based on the two themes of  'Friends' and 'Journeys'.  It depicts the journey from our school to the village church of St. James for our annual Harvest Festival, walking with our friends.
Some important aspects of our village are included such as the coal mine (now closed) and farming ( ostriches are kept on one of the farms!)

How we made our tapestry :
Our working party included teachers, parents and friends of our school.  This party met in school every week for most of the Spring term and every child (65 of them) was given the opportunity of working on the tapestry from Pre-school to Year 4.  Each child made one of the faces that make up the border.
