What our tapestry is about :
Design brief: 'Friends' and 'The Global Village'.  Children on different continents (and even in space in the future) are joined in friendship, symbolised by balls being passed between them.

How we made our Tapestry:
Onto the black moleskin backcloth the fabric painted, padded Earth was sewn.  Knitted, padded figures of children from different ethnic origins were sewn onto the continents and a planet.  Felt, padded rockets with glittery tails were sewn amongst the pom-pom planets made by the youngest children.  The children were joined by shiny threads onto which pom-pom balls had been threaded to symbolise games and friendship linking the children.
