Click CEOP on Facebook - update
CEOP have had a fantastic response to the new Click CEOP app launched on Facebook last week. Many of you have shown your support for this already, adding the Click CEOP tab to your own profiles and filtering the message down to the children and young people you work with.
Campaigns like these are driven by discussion and word of mouth and so if you haven’t already, please encourage as many people as you can to show their support and tell all of the children and young people in their care how they can add the app and help protect themselves online.
Things children and young people can do:
- ‘Like’ Click CEOP fan page – www.facebook.com/clickceop
- Using the Click CEOP app, you can ‘add the tab’, ‘share our badge‘ and ‘bookmark our page’ http://apps.facebook.com/clickceop
According to the Mirror, a 33 year-old Science teacher at a West Midlands school is under investigation amid claims that pupils have seen ‘semi-naked’ photos of her on Facebook. The pictures, thought to be taken on holiday, are said to show the teacher concerned in her bikini.
The teacher's Twitter feeds, in which she has apparently complained about her job and talked about her personal life, are also under scrutiny. The school – an academy sponsored by a Christian charity – has declined to disclose whether or not the teacher is currently suspended.
In response to incidents like this, the ATL has produced a leaflet giving guidance about protecting yourself on social networking sites which you can find here:
