Improving sentences Practice
in using adjectives appropriately
Children work in pairs to generate a range of adjectives words & phrases
- to improve each sentence. From their list they should choose and insert
the best for each sentence.
Character portraits Planning

a short paragraph to describe

an image of one character 2. Generate
a range of relevant nouns and adjectives to describe the character 3. Work
from this planning to produce a paragraph describing the character
NB ensure the children include adjectives to describe the personality
[brave, weak] we must move on from simple physical description
Storyboarding
Storyboarding plan for modern version of the tale: 1.
Children
should work in pairs to generate possible changes to character or setting 2.
Using
a frame of 3, 5, or 7 sections plan out a modern version of the tale the
plot should remain unchanged, only the characters OR setting should change
