3 Service level agreementse-learning and ICT SLA 2011-12

What’s in the SLA and why is it changing?

With recent changes to the Harnessing Technology grant, the Local Authority is having to change the structure and provision of curriculum ICT support services to ensure that schools will be able to continue to access training, support and online services and resources in the future.

In order to provide schools with the maximum flexibility, we have structured the e-learning and ICT support provision around three separate Service Level Agreements. Schools may opt for any or all SLAs depending on their e-learning and ICT support needs.

The three service level agreements relating to e-learning and ICT in the curriculum are:

Three SLAs SLA 1 SLA 2 SLA 3

Each SLA provides a unique set of services covering the breadth of ICT activity in schools.

These SLAs offer tremendous value to schools - a typical First school will pay less than £500 for a learning platform which includes software and online applications costing many times this amount.

Similarly, for the same amount, schools will receive detailed half termly e-safety reports, backed up by training and PCE console monitoring.

With the growing range of software, resources and technologies, staff need up to date ICT training and support and this can be provided through SLA 1.

If schools buy into all three SLAs then the overall cost will be reduced by 20%.

A typical Northumberland school will pay around £1500 for this comprehensive group of support packages, online resources and reports.
