Would you like help in identifying your more able pupils and tailoring provision appropriate to their needs?

Many first schools in Northumberland have started small – focusing on one or two pupils per year group. 
They have used the following chart as a point of discussion among staff.
It is the quality of the discussion that determines the effectiveness of the identification process.

The chart has been designed by Northumberland first schools to enable all school staff to contribute to a holistic profile of an individual child. 

 

The chart makes explicit the attributes and skills that are well developed in a child as well as identifying those that need developing. 

 

It is the skills that need developing that determine the nature of provision.
