Laptops for Teachers |
 |
|
The laptops have now
arrived in schools. You will need to choose which
operating system you want to use - Windows 2000 or Windows
XP. The laptop comes with a copy of Microsoft Office XP
Business Edition. This needs to be activated by phoning or
contacting Microsoft licensing on the Internet. If you
have any problems with setting up your laptop, call Acer
technical support on 0207-365-2486. |
|
If you have received one of these laptops, you may be interested
in attending the 'Getting to Grips with
your Laptop' INSET course at Hepscott:.
|
|
This course will
cover some of the basic issues relating to managing and
using a laptop:
- Organising files, loading software,
linking to printers.
- Techniques for sharing files and
resources - using floppy discs, zip drives, cd writers,
USB Flash memory key rings.
- Linking to networks - fixed and
wireless connection.
- Using LCD projectors and a simple
introduction to presentation software similar to Microsoft
PowerPoint. A free copy of Starsuite with its presentation
software will be available for course participants
