Northumberland
School Email

1. What's happening now

  • All First and Special Schools in Northumberland are currently being set up with class email accounts
on a new email server. Middle and High Schools are being given the option of individual pupil accounts.

  • In July your school was sent an email from Gill Wallace, Support Officer with Computer Services.

  • Attached to this email was an Excel spreadsheet: Class\Pupil Account Update - July 2006

  • Schools were requested to update and return this spreadsheet to cshelpdesk@northumberland.gov.uk

  • When this has been returned, schools are sent class user names and passwords, along with details of how to log on to Outlook Web Access at https://pupilmail.northumberland.gov.uk/exchange

2. What you should do next

  • If you have been sent your class user names and passwords, you can start using email as soon as you have an Acceptable Use Policy in place. If you don't know what this is or you need help writing one, go on to Step 3.

  • If you haven't returned the updated spreadsheet  - do it now!
NB - This MUST go to cshelpdesk@northumberland.gov.uk  - NOT to Gill Wallace.

  • If you haven't received the email sent out in July, inform Gill Wallace gwallace@northumberland.gov.uk
(The email was sent to your school's admin email account)

  • If you have any questions about your school email once it is set up, contact the Helpdesk on 533333.

3.Using Email Safely in your School

You need to make sure that you have an Acceptable Use Policy in place before you use Internet and Email in school.
This policy needs to be agreed and shared with staff, pupils, parents and governors.
