We are delighted to be hosting our 3rd annual conference at Dissington Hall near Ponteland on 7th October 2009.

Our theme for this year’s conference is “Languages in the Creative Curriculum” and who better to introduce the day than Steven Fawkes, author of 'Excuse my French'
“For complete beginners or those returning to French after a break, this book shows that learning a language can be a positive and potentially life-transforming experience.

The theme allows us to celebrate the collaborative work of many teachers in Northumberland schools who have been working for a couple of years now on developing a stimulating and creative languages curriculum from Nursery to Year 9.

Languages in the Creative Curriculum

You will see the quality of their work in many of the seminar sessions and the resources from all of the projects will be distributed on a pen drive at the end of the conference.

The theme also gives us an opportunity to reflect on the challenges of a broader creative curriculum and how languages can sit within it in a meaningful way. We have a number of teachers from our own Northumberland schools sharing their ideas in workshops on how they have dealt with these challenges and integrated languages into their curriculum.

We look forward to seeing you at Dissington Hall and we hope you enjoy the day.
