You will also need to have Finale Notepad installed in order to use
the attached files. See below to

Rhythm

This unit
provides an introduction to musical notation.
This unit is
still concerned primarily with rhythm, but now focuses on
time signatures, timbre and dynamics.
This unit
focuses on using rhythmic 'ostinatos' and is most suited for
KS2 children. There is
also an attached Finale Notation file.
Pitch
These pitch units should run in conjunction with the
notation units shown above. The units in both sets should be
taught simultaneously.
Unit 1 in both series help
children to work comfortably at Level 1 in the Music
National Curriculum.
The Pitch units are an
introduction to using tuned percussion instruments (chime
bars, glockenspiels or xylophones) with children in KS1 & 2
both as performance and composition tools.
