children have a right to play in the outdoors, not only so
they will learn to appreciate the rich heritage of their
local environment but also to inspire a life long passion
for learning.
Outside is where young children want to be. They have the
same enthusiasm for a muddy puddle in the back yard as a day
trip to the beach or woods. When outside, children engage in

solve problems, learn to cooperate and develop positive self
