NorTLE workshops around County

Recently we have been running a number of roadshows around the County to introduce to colleagues the changes we have made to our learning platform and the fantastic range of online resources, freely available to staff and pupils on the platform, from home or school.

Nortle Online ResourcesAs well as a new look and functionality, NorTLE now includes:

  • Built in Desk Top Publishing software
  • Junior Infant Toolkit with writing, painting, charts & graphs, control and animation software
  • Direct access to Interactive Resources Online without need to log on
  • All the Shoofly materials, Big Bus, Time Maps and many more resources

Significantly, we have also put all the hundreds of resources we have developed, and which are hosted on our NGfL website, into NorTLE. From April 2011 these will only be available in NorTLE and will be taken off the web.

To help schools further understand the wide range of tools and resources available through NorTLE, we will shortly embark on a series of three training sessions, delivered at venues throughout the County, which will enable your staff and pupils to get the most from our online learning platform.

Whether you have a platform or not, all staff are welcome at these sessions. If you haven’t yet got a NorTLE platform, just contact us and we will set one up for you. If possible we would recommend that two staff attend from a school in order to then support each other and better cascade the information back in school to other staff.

The dates and structure of these sessions is as follows:

Desktop PublishingSession 1 – Becoming familiar with Key tools and resources

  • Interactive Resources Online Wow ! plus Big Bus, Shoofly, Roar materials for e-safety, PSHE & Bullying and much, much more – find out how to get the most from the mass of online content.

  • Infant Toolkit and Desktop Publishing – a must for all schools.
