Welcome to the new Northumberland Teaching and Learning website.  The site has been developed by the ICT Advisory team and provides a focus for Northumberland schools.
As well as links to other sites on the WWW, a major aim of this site is to make a contribution to the web by providing new resources for schools. The Resources page provides links to some of the materials produced by the support team and Northumberland teachers.

Notices has new information on the site and NGfL developments in the region, plus items of interest like the webcams showing the Gateshead Millenium bridge arriving at the Quayside.


Resources provides the links to the main curriculum materials and WWW for teachers and pupils.

E-mail only works for schools using Northumberland County Council as Internet Service Provider. Click on this to gain access to, and information about, the County e-mail system.

Search is a double action button which provides a quick link to two search engines.
The left hand side of the button links to Google and the right hand to Ask Jeeves for Kids, both useful search engines.

As part of the NGfL project in Northumberland we are working with teachers in different phases to develop resources to support the curriculum. 
A group of teachers coordinated by Mel Rockett are working on 30 activity packs for Thinking for Learning which should be on the website by Autumn. We also have teachers working with the Literacy and Numeracy teams to produce resources for the site.

 
Already we have a number of exciting and unique resources on the site: try the Additional Literacy Strategy materials which have been made into interactive resources by the ICT & SEN team. 

These can be used online or downloaded to use on computers not connected to the internet.
...or look at the D & T Workshop for resources for Foundation and Key Stages 1 & 2. This site includes 8 activities with resources sheets and instructions to download.

As the site grows we aim to add new resources to support different key stages or materials useful to teachers in all phases. The Art and Design materials developed by Tony Murray, Advisory Teacher for Art & Design, are a great resource and a good example of the materials we are adding which can be printed out from the website.
