E-safety & Ofsted - training requirements

Recently a number of schools have been contacted about e-safety training to meet Ofsted 'requirements'.

The new Ofsted guidance suggests:

to audit the training needs of all staff and provide training to improve their knowledge of and expertise in the safe and appropriate use of new technologies
and
All teaching and non-teaching staff receive regular and up-to-date training.

At least one staff member has accredited training, for example CEOP, EPICT.

We already offer an accredited CEOP's training course which has been running for the last couple of years - details of which are in the latest e-safety update being sent to e-safety SLA3 schools in January.

Our plan is to review our school e-safety designated person lists and also offer additional accreditation courses, if the demands there.

The courses are free to SLA schools but because we offer them through Anne Lambert, she makes a small charge for venue and refreshments.
